The Hormone Handbook

The keys to safe hormone therapies:
How to do it and how to solve therapy problems

At last, the long awaited basic guide for physicians specializing in anti-aging hormone therapies. This is the best gift a patient can give to his doctor.

the hormone handbook

The Hormone Handbook : teaches physicians how to successfully correct hormone deficiencies, from mild, partial to severe and complete shortages. It identifies and gives solutions to the various problems that may occur in the course of therapy. It is probably the best quick guide on the practical use of hormone therapies.

Topics covered : How to detect hormone deficiencies, recognize deficiency complaints and physical signs, how to interpret lab test protocols, how to increase the safety and efficacy of treatments, what doses, which products, bio-identical hormones or not, how to start, which are the safest routes to get hormones into the body, how to balance hormone therapies with one another, how often to follow-up, and many more essential topics.

The hormone treatments discussed range from the more typical ones such as thyroid, estrogen and progesterone, testosterone for men, and calcitonin treatments to the newer, equally important ones such as growth hormone, melatonin, DHEA, androstenedione, cortisol, aldosterone, pregnenolone, testosterone for women and progesterone for men therapies.

The hormone handbook also contains an excellent list of scientific references from peer reviewed journals. For physicians these references are essential for increasing their knowledge base and invaluable in supporting the use of hormone therapies in patients who need them.

Patients can be involved in their own care by using this handbook to understand the therapy they are receiving and their reactions to therapy. Educating patients about their treatment leads to a better outcome.
